The bedrock topography was successfully measured under ice sheets thicker than 3500m, and the performance of the radio echo sounder was confirmed. The highest point of Dome-F was located in the basin like topography of the bedrock, surrounded by more elevated areas. The strength of the bedrock echo were found to differ substantially between inside and outside of the Dome-F area. This difference is probably due to the difference of ice sheet temperatures between these areas, because the attenuation coefficients depend on the ice temperature.
