The reaction rates, however, become much slower in the ice phase because molecule cannot move easily. It was found that a few reactions of which activation energies were positive were accelerated in freezing aqueous solution. The reaction rates in the freezing process were 10 to (10)^5 times faster than those in solution at 25℃. The reaction occurred faster at faster freezing rate. Further, the reaction by freezing did not accelerate when the solution was frozen while stirring.
