The calculations show that due to introduction of volcanic ash aerosol into the stratosphere, the net flux at SWS decreases and the net flux at TOA increases compared with the non-aerosol scenario. As a result, the atmosphere-subsystem (ATM) between TOA and SWS is heated due to absorption of solar radiation by the aerosol.
