Our efforts have uncovered new questions that need to be addressed. In this paper I will mainly discuss why ground-based observations are needed in addition to in-situ measurements in the study of dayside magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling processes and boundary layer phenomena. The mapping of boundary layers based on optical measurements will be compared by the statistical data of particle precipitation regions developed from satellite observations. Satellites can never acquire data which are not ambiguous in time and space. The resolution in space and time for important plasma processes are often not adequate. Thus, without coordinated ground-based observations in-situ measurements will be severely limited. The future emphasis should be on the dynamic nature of magnetospheric processes and their ionospheric signatures. Three-dimensional maps of the space environment are needed. Because of the global extent of these phenomena, international cooperation's will be more and more important in years to come.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_1_source_id_13":{"attribute_name":"雑誌書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA00733561","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_1_text_10":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"en","subitem_text_value":"Department of Physics, University of Oslo"}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"1998-07-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KJ00000012861.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.2 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_6","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KJ00000012861","url":"https://nipr.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2309/files/KJ00000012861.pdf"},"version_id":"ed5ed69c-7985-4262-85a6-13caa03c9bef"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Combined ground and in-situ measurements needed in solar-terrestrial research","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Combined ground and in-situ measurements needed in solar-terrestrial research","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"1","owner":"4","path":["406"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"1998-07-01"},"publish_date":"1998-07-01","publish_status":"0","recid":"2309","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Combined ground and in-situ measurements needed in solar-terrestrial research"],"weko_creator_id":"4","weko_shared_id":4},"updated":"2023-07-25T13:56:30.689363+00:00"}
