Such a possibility is illustrated here by analyzing GPS data from different locations around the Antarctic continent during the massive eruption of Mt. Chaiten volcano in Chile on 19th, February 2009. GPS derived ZTD values showed abnormal perturbation during the transition from summer to winter time in Antarctic margins. The irregular ZTD values, which existed for the short period from 19th, February to 08th, March 2009, exhibited perturbations and showed high correspondence with the abnormal atmospheric black carbon (BC) content noticed over the Indian Antarctic station (Maitri) during the same period. We therefore suggest that the anomalous ZTD changes might have resulted due to high BC influx into the atmosphere. We propose that the 19th, February 2009 massive eruption of Mt. Chaiten is the source for the BC, which moved from the volcanic front to the East Antarctica margin along with the circum polar current.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10001_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"10.1016/j.polar.2018.11.009"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.polar.2018.11.009","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_10001_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"18739652","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Akilan, A.","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Abdul Azeez, K.K.","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Schuh, H.","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Padhy, S.","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kumar Kotluri, S.","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"GPS","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Zenith total delay","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Black carbon","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Mt. chaiten","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Antarctica","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Perturbations in atmospheric gaseous components over coastal Antarctica detected in GPS signals and its natural origin to volcanic eruption","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Perturbations in atmospheric gaseous components over coastal Antarctica detected in GPS signals and its natural origin to volcanic eruption"},{"subitem_title":"Perturbations in atmospheric gaseous components over coastal Antarctica detected in GPS signals and its natural origin to volcanic eruption","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10001","owner":"25","path":["1932"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2019-03-31"},"publish_date":"2019-03-31","publish_status":"0","recid":"15602","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Perturbations in atmospheric gaseous components over coastal Antarctica detected in GPS signals and its natural origin to volcanic eruption"],"weko_creator_id":"25","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-07-25T13:27:10.847028+00:00"}
